Plan your visit

For your visit to the volcano, we recommend wearing appropriate clothing to protect you against changing temperatures, and footwear suitable for rocky terrain.

Don't forget to carry water with you if you choose to do one of the routes that start from the upper station. Sunglasses are also a good idea. The routes are the best way to discover the volcano, but don't stray from the marked paths. Out of routes 10, 11 and 12, you only need a special permit for no. 10, which reaches the summit. You can obtain the permit online and free of charge at  www.reservasparquesnacionales.es. Remember to obtain the permit well in advance. If you want to visit the summit, the first thing you need to do is make sure there are free slots when you plan to go.

Teide cable car is located within a protected national park and a series of basic rules of civic conduct and respect for the natural environment must be observed: do not leave litter; do not remove stones, plants or animals. It is not permitted to build a fire, make loud noise or camp.
